*Nader Saeivar won the Golden Scale with his first feature Namo in 2020, he competed with No End in 2022, and his latest film The Witness which premiered at the Venice Film Festival is selected to Scale of Justice section. Co-written with Jafar Panahi, The Witness tackles a very complex judicial problem that not only concern Iran but primarily concerns Turkey: the oppression and violence women and children are subject to, and the impunity of men is conveyed on the screen through a subtly written script and poignant performances.
