  • Takumi and his daughter Hana live in Mizubiki Village, close to Tokyo. Like many generations before them, they live a modest life according to the cycles and order of nature. When two representatives from a Tokyo company, Playmode arrive in the village to present a project of building a glamping site near Takumi’s house, it becomes clear to the village inhabitants that the project will have a negative impact on the local community. Led by Takumi, they decide to oppose the initiative.

    The latest film by Japanese director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car, 2022) premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Golden Lion for s best film.
